When properly installed, they prevent gravel from shifting, sinking or forming ruts \u2013 offering the look of natural stone with the stability of a solid pavement.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"629\" data-end=\"707\">Below is a simple, step-by-step guide on how to install gravel mats correctly.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"712\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"714\" data-end=\"742\"><strong data-start=\"717\" data-end=\"742\">1. Remove the Topsoil<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"743\" data-end=\"978\">Start by excavating the existing top layer of soil. Remove soft or organic material until you reach a firm base. Install edging boards so they rise about 2 cm above the final grid height\u2014this will help keep the gravel neatly contained.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"980\" data-end=\"983\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"985\" data-end=\"1021\"><strong data-start=\"988\" data-end=\"1021\">2. Compact and level the surface until smooth.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1575\" data-end=\"1578\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"1580\" data-end=\"1609\"><strong data-start=\"1583\" data-end=\"1609\">4.
